⚙️ How Does HAVRIX-720 Work?

Inactivated Antigen Injected Intramuscularly
0.5 mL of HAVRIX-720 is injected IM into the deltoid (or anterolateral thigh in younger children). The dose delivers 720 ELISA Units of formaldehyde-inactivated Hepatitis A virus. No live virus is present — the vaccine cannot cause Hepatitis A infection.

Immune System Recognition
Antigen-presenting cells at the injection site process the inactivated viral antigens and present them to T-helper cells, initiating the adaptive immune response.

Antibody Production (2–4 Weeks)
B-cells produce protective antibodies against Hepatitis A virus, with protective levels typically achieved within 2 to 4 weeks of the first dose.

Long-Term Protection After Booster
The second (booster) dose at 6–12 months triggers a strong immune memory response, providing long-term protection against Hepatitis A estimated to last for many years.
✅ Cannot cause Hepatitis A: HAVRIX-720 is a completely inactivated vaccine — no live or attenuated virus whatsoever. It is physiologically impossible to contract Hepatitis A from HAVRIX-720. Mild soreness or low-grade fever after vaccination are normal immune activation responses, not infection.

Do NOT give HAVRIX-720 if:
- Child has had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to a previous dose of HAVRIX or any of its components
- Known hypersensitivity to neomycin or any vaccine excipient
- Child has a moderate to severe acute illness with fever — defer vaccination until recovery

- Bleeding disorders or anticoagulant therapy — inform VacciHub nurse before vaccination
