Preventing disease is always preferable to treating it, and accines serve as an important line of defense for infants and toddlers, helping to protect from various infectious diseases, some of which can be life-threatening.
WHO and Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) has a recommended vaccination schedule for children to protect them from serious diseases such as Tuberculosis, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Rubella, and Rotavirus.
The financial burden of treating vaccine-preventable diseases is much higher and stressful for the parent and kids than the cost of vaccination itself. By immunizing children, families can avoid expensive medical treatments that may arise from potential infections.
There are several other benefit to individual and to the society as such as vaccines prevent disease spread, disease like polio are eliminated with effective immunization of the society at mass scale.
