Precautions & Contraindications
Do NOT give Pentavac SD if:
- Severe allergic reaction to a previous dose of any DTP/pentavalent vaccine
- Encephalopathy within 7 days of a previous pertussis-containing vaccine
- Progressive neurological disorder, uncontrolled epilepsy (consult specialist first)
- Acute moderate-to-severe illness with fever – defer until recovery
Use with Caution:
- History of high fever, collapse, or persistent crying after a previous DTP dose
- Known bleeding disorder or on anticoagulant therapy
