A useful place to start

Make the vaccination plan personal

Before pregnancy

Use a preconception visit to review the vaccination record. Some vaccines that are unsuitable during pregnancy may be considered beforehand with advice about timing.

During pregnancy

Take the antenatal record to each review. Your doctor should coordinate the national Td schedule with any Tdap or influenza recommendation to avoid confusion or unnecessary doses.

After delivery

Ask about any vaccines deferred during pregnancy and the next steps while breastfeeding. Keep the maternal and infant vaccination records separate and accessible.

Timing, eligibility and next steps

What to discuss with your clinician

This guide supports a conversation; it is not an individual prescription. International guidance and Indian product approvals can differ.

Td under India’s national programme

The national schedule lists Td-1 early in pregnancy and Td-2 four weeks later. A booster applies when two Td doses were received in a pregnancy within the previous three years. Your antenatal team should verify your history and timing.

Tdap for whooping cough protection

CDC guidance recommends Tdap during each pregnancy, preferably early in weeks 27–36. This is international guidance; your obstetrician should select an approved product and coordinate it with your Indian antenatal plan.

Inactivated influenza injection

CDC guidance supports an inactivated flu injection during pregnancy, including any trimester. Ask about the appropriate seasonal formulation and local timing. Live nasal influenza vaccine should not be used in pregnancy.

Vaccines needing special caution

Live MMR and varicella vaccines are contraindicated during pregnancy under CDC guidance. HPV vaccination is deferred. Other vaccines require an individual risk and benefit review rather than automatic booking.

Do not use this page to choose a vaccine or alter an antenatal schedule yourself. Share the pregnancy stage and your obstetrician’s instructions before booking. Home vaccination is subject to clinical suitability; contact your treating team for pregnancy symptoms or urgent concerns.

Clear answers before booking

Pregnancy vaccination at home FAQs

Are Td and Tdap the same vaccine?

No. Both include tetanus and diphtheria protection; Tdap also includes pertussis protection. Your obstetrician should coordinate the doses with your earlier vaccination and antenatal schedule.

When should I discuss Tdap?

Discuss it during antenatal care. The cited CDC guidance prefers the early part of weeks 27–36 in each pregnancy; product approval and your treating doctor’s plan in India govern the actual appointment.

Can I receive a flu injection while pregnant?

An inactivated influenza injection can be considered during pregnancy, including any trimester under CDC guidance. Confirm the exact product and timing with your obstetrician.

Can I book a pregnancy vaccination at home?

Ask the team to arrange the vaccine already advised by your obstetrician. Share the prescription, gestational week and previous doses. The team confirms local coverage and whether a home visit is appropriate.

Are vaccine and visit charges separate?

Yes. The catalogue lists vaccine prices per dose. Nursing or home visit charges depend on your PIN code and are shown separately in the booking flow.
